Everything You Wanted To Know
Week of March 19, 2018

A Note From Our Principal:
Tonight we will celebrate our students’ hard work with our Science curriculum during the Science Fair. We will have displays of student work throughout the school ranging from experiments to constellation models to exploding volcanoes that will cover everything you wanted to know about discovery and inquiry. Kindergarten through third grade students’ projects will be in their individual classrooms/halls. Fourth grade will also be in their classroom, or outside on the lower blacktop as the students will be exploding their volcanoes. Fifth through eighth grade projects will all be on display in the cafeteria. The program begins at 6:30pm and will conclude at 7:30pm. See you there! Students do not need to be in uniform this evening.

Next week, in addition to spring break, we will be celebrating Holy Week! As we enter the Triduum next Thursday, which are the three days celebrating the Paschal Mystery of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, it is a time of reflection and celebration. As you look ahead to your Holy Week/Spring Break plans, the events at St. John Fisher Parish include:
Palm Sunday, 3/24 or 3/25: Masses at 4:30pm Saturday, 9am and 5:30pm on Sunday. Our 11am Liturgy of the Word service on Sunday will be with our neighbors from St. Luke Lutheran at St. John Fisher Church
Holy Thursday, 3/29: Mass at 7pm, followed by Adoration and ending with Benediction at 9am
Good Friday, 3/30: Beaverton Walk of the Cross for Peace and Justice at 10am beginning at Bethel Congregational UCC (5150 SW Watson Avenue) and ending at St. Cecilia Catholic Church (5th and Franklin Ave). Our own Good Friday Liturgy is at 7pm
Easter Masses, 3/31 and 4/1: Easter Vigil is on 3/31 at 9pm and Easter Sunday Masses are at 9am and 11am (no 5:30pm Mass on 4/1)

Photos Needed:
As you know, the SJF Yearbook is a collection of memories from the current year. That said, many events have passed and we may not have adequate pictures for every topic and/or event.
We would love to have your pictures if you have some you’d like to share. We need to represent as many people as possible so please take that into consideration when sharing. Also, if you can name your photos by event or names, that would be helpful as well, but not critical. The eighth grade is organizing and laying out the book and they will review and pick out the best photos for the situation. Unfortunately we will not be able to use everything! Photos for sports can include activities outside of CYO organized teams.
Please email photos to this address – they will automatically be added to our school Flickr account:
Messages Section:
The 8th graders are working on the yearbook and need some help. A component of the yearbook is the “Messages” section from parents to their son/daughter at SJF. If you would like to email a special message to your student, please send it to She will receive them and distribute the emails to the students working on the special pages.
Thank you,
Mitchell Dooling and Brooks Rice
Please contact me if you need assistance and/or have questions about this.
Thanks much!
Jan Tullis
