Everything You Wanted To Know

Week of September 24, 2018

A Note from our Principal:

Everything is Awesome ! Next Friday Oct. 5th is our Jogathon. This year we have once again partnered with PledgeStar to support our online pledges and each family has the opportunity to create their own pledge donation webpage. To access online pledges, please go to create your student(s) webpage and input potential donor’s email addresses. The PledgeStar portal makes tracking pledges easier as it emails you when you receive a pledge and the donor also receives an emailed receipt of their tax-deductible contribution to our Jogathon.

Additionally, since we travel to Jesuit for the Jogathon, each student must have a permission slip. Please turn the permission slips into your child’s’ homeroom teacher ASAP. Thanks!

For housekeeping this week, I wanted to review our volunteer policy. We welcome your help in the St. John Fisher School community. In order to volunteer, new families need to complete the following requirements: complete a Background Check through Praesidium, view the Called to Protect video and sign the Standards of Conduct for Ministry with Children form. Background checks are ordered through the school office. Please let Mrs. Wasman know if you would like a background check ordered ( .) Returning families need to watch 2 online training modules “Preventing Sexual Harassment” and “Duty to Report” by December 1. This can be accomplished in the comfort of your own home! Information about this year’s training update is attached to this SAM.

The Called to Protect video will be shown at St. John Fisher in the school cafeteria, today Tuesday, September 25th at 8:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 6:00 pm. Advance registration is not required at our school, but be sure to sign in so that your attendance is recorded. If you are unable to view Called to Protect video at SJF, you can refer to the Archdiocese Child Protection website for a list of local parishes/schools facilitating the video throughout the school year: and the “Called to Protect Program Schedule” tab.

Finally, when you arrive on campus to volunteer, please sign in at the front office and Mrs. Wasman will give you a volunteer badge. When you leave campus, please remember to sign out and return to volunteer badge. Thanks for providing your time to help our school!
