SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Wanted To Know
Week of October 8, 2018
A Note from our Principal:
Last Friday’s Jogathon was such a testament to the community spirit at SJF. Even through the rain, families and kids came out smiling and showed us that truly Everything is Awesome! Special thanks go out to our Jogathon chairs, Carey Hunt and Erin McClaskey, and their crew of hard workers who helped this event “run” so seamlessly from start to the finish line. Please return your pledge packet to the school office by 3pmMonday, October 15th to be eligible for prizes.
Additionally, I would like to say “ Thank You” to our sponsors who generously made this event possible and offset our expenses. Our T-Shirt sponsors included Fred Shearer & Sons, Grove Custom Homes and Adidas! This year’s Water Bottle Sponsor was Auntie Anne’s Pretzels. Tent Sponsors were: AJC Consulting, Jay’s Wide Shoes, Miller Law, NW Women’s Clinic and Perlo Construction. Our prize sponsors include Matt Floberg/Merril Lynch, the Mallard Family/American Medical, The Wells Family, Cathy Merz Insurance, Oreste Construction, and Anastasia Salon. Our limo lunch sponsors are Joe Kennedy/Windermere, NW Jeep and our 1st Grade Rhinos Soccer Team. THANK YOU ALL!
Our awards assembly will be on Wednesday, October 24th at 9:30am (after Mass) when we will reveal the final results for most laps and total money raised. Congratulations to all the students for running their hearts out and thanks for supporting our school!

SJF AUCTION NEWS
Auction team meeting happens tonight at 7:00 pm in the school library.
NOVEMBER CAN & BOTTLE DRIVE
Our fall fundraiser will run Nov. 1-21. We will be collecting cans and bottles with all proceeds going to the ALS Association of Oregon/SW Washington in honor of Delores Beckers. Many thanks to our 8th Grade class, Mr. Vecchione and his Leadership team for taking the lead on organizing the can and bottle donations.
As of January 1, 2018, the Bottle Bill Expansion went into effect for the state, expanding the type of beverages that now have a refund value of 10 cents per container. Please consult the attached flyer regarding what is included, and not included for a refund.
LOST & FOUND CLOSET
Even though it’s early in the school year, our Lost & Found closet is already quite full of water bottles, jackets, uniform sweatshirts, lunch boxes and various other school supplies and books (many of which are labeled with student names.) Please come take a quick look.
