SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Wanted To Know
Week of October 15, 2018
Last evening, our Jogathon team counted money from the turned-in packets, and it’s fair to say that we smashed our goal! And quite possibly set a new school fundraising record for the Jogathon! Numbers are still being finalized and will be revealed soon. Thank you to our co-chairs, Carey Hunt and Erin McClaskey, and their team for organizing another AWESOME Jogathon. Thank you to the parents and students for raising money for our AWESOME school, too!
A Note from our Principal:
Fall is in full swing at SJF and we have quite a number of events coming up this month!
Tomorrow night our PTC (Parent Teacher Club) will be hosting a parent information night for families. Our presenter will be our own Innovation and Technology Specialist, Mrs. Jan Tullis. She will give a presentation designed to give you the tools to help keep your children (and you) safe online. Some of the topics she will be covering is Inappropriate Content, Online Solicitation, Online Privacy and Cyberbullying. Hope to see you all there!
Next Thursday and Friday are our annual parent/teacher conference days. Our front doors will be open on Thursday from 7:30am-10:30am, 12:00pm-2:00pm and 5:00pm-8:00pm and on Friday from 7:30am-10:30am. Families are asked to enter via the front doors to check in and pick up their child’s midterm progress report and STAR assessment scores. Then, parents of students in grades kindergarten through second are welcome to head to the individual classroom for their parent/teacher conference at their designated time. Teachers for grades 3-8 and all specialists will be in the cafeteria and conferences are open to families on a first come/first served basis.
