A Note from our Principal

Thank you for taking the time to meet with faculty last week during school conferences. For families that may have missed conferences, your student’s midterm progress report and STAR assessment scores will be sent to you in the mail.

As a reminder, we will not have the all school Mass on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Please join us this Thursday, Nov. 1 for our special All Saints Mass at 8:30, hosted of course, by Mrs. Schoenheit and her “saintly” 4th grade class.

As we move through the school calendar, plans are fully underway for this spring’s auction. First up is a look at this year’s logo and news about the Golden Horseshoe Raffle:

Auction season has officially begun !

We are kicking off the season with the Golden Horseshoe Raffle .

Tickets can be purchased October 29th – November 9th .

A winner will be selected at the Wine and Cheese night on November 9th.

Tickets cost $25/each. Up to 300 will be sold. Need not be present to win.

No substitutions will be made for any of the prizes. The prize is valued at $480, and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Tickets available at as well as at drop off and pick up.

Get them before they sell out!

Holder of the Winning ticket will receive all of these items:

  • School auction – two tickets

  • SJF swag bag

  • Reserved parking spot – for the 2018/2019 school year

  • 20 Hot Lunches – 2018/2019 school year

  • Christmas Program 2018 – premium reserved seats

  • Christmas Mass 2018 – reserved pew (mass of choice)

  • Easter Mass 2019 – reserved pew (mass of choice)

  • Cinco de Mayo dinner 2019 – reserved VIP seating for 10

  • Spring Musical 2019 – premium reserved seats

Playground Parents, please arrive at school by 11:25 am to sign in at the school office and pick up your clipboard and volunteer badge. As a reminder, we have returned to our lunch time schedule of “lunch first, recess second” for this school year. You can check the playground duty schedule at any time on SchoolSpeak by clicking on the “Playground Calendar” tab. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe on the playground!


Halloween Edition SJF News!


The signup calendar for November is attached to this SAM and is also on SchoolSpeak under the Extended Care tab. Please submit your dates for the new month. Our Parents’ Night Out is scheduled for the same night at the Wine and Cheese Social (Friday, 11/9/18) making a nice evening for both parents and kids! Additional details are on the attached flyer.


Registration for SJF/CYO Basketball is NOW OPEN! Please use this link to register on the CYO website*.

*Team Sideline

Please note that CYO is using a new software program called Team Sideline. This means you will have to sign up for a new Team Sideline account to complete registration. CYO provides instructions on the website, should you need it.

Once you register your child, you will receive an immediate email confirmation. Then as we get into November, coaches will reach out to communicate practice schedules, once they are established.

St. John Fisher Basketball is comprised of two divisions:

Hotshots (Open to Girls and Boys 1-2) and Grade School (Open to Girls and Boys Grade 3-8).

>Hot Shots season goes November – March, with 7 games and 1 tournament.

>Grade School season runs from November-March with an optional Jamboree Tournament in early December. There are 8 weeks of regular season games with the optional end of season Championships which will conclude in March. Key dates for Grade School are as follows:

Pre-Season Jamboree: Dec 1st and 2nd

First Regular Season Games for 3rd and 4th grade: DEC 15th

First Regular Season Games for 5th-8th grade: January 5th

Coaches are needed for the following age groups:

Hotshots (1st-2nd Grades)

3G girls – Should we have enough players to make a team (need 7/8).

Volunteer hours available!

If you are looking for a way to gain hours and do them from home please contact Jill Habrich. You can earn 10-20 hours from the comfort of home as long as you have a computer!

If your children were absent on picture day, or you would like your student’s school picture to be re-taken, Lifetouch Photography will be here in the morning on Monday, Nov. 5 . Ordering information is in the school office, if needed. If you are having your picture taken, or retaken, you may wear free dress for the day.


The fall fundraiser begins this Thursday, Nov. 1. We will be collecting cans and bottles with all proceeds going to the ALS Association of Oregon/SW Washington in honor of Mrs. Delores Beckers.  Many thanks to our 8th Grade class, Mr. Vecchione and his Leadership team for taking the lead on organizing the can and bottle donations.

As of January 1, 2018, the Bottle Bill Expansion went into effect for the state, expanding the type of beverages that now have a refund value of 10 cents per container. Please consult the attached flyer regarding what is included, and not included for a refund.
