Everything You Wanted To Know

Week of December 10, 2018

A Note from our Principal:

Christmas greetings! As we continue through the second week of Advent, the air around our school is sure filled with holiday spirit.

We have many events that help us prepare our minds and hearts for the celebration of Christmas. Tomorrow night at 6:30pm is our K-4 Christmas program in our church. Students are asked to arrive at 6pm and report to the cafeteria. Dress for this fun event is Christmas/Sunday best clothing. See you there!

Thursday marks the end of our St. Vincent de Paul food drive. Your food donations are so greatly appreciated as our organization feeds a couple hundred families in our local Southwest Portland community. The 7 th and 8 th grade students will be helping our St. Vincent de Paul group put together the food boxes this Thursday and Friday for delivery on Saturday. If you are interested in helping pack boxes, feel free to join us this Friday night at 7pm in the cafeteria. Father Richard will bless the food on Saturday morning at 9:45am and delivery will begin shortly after the blessing. Thanks again for your generous donations in service to our greater Southwest Portland community.

In closing, on behalf of all at SJF, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the best for 2019!

Today is the last day to purchase your candy-grams. All proceeds will go towards the 8th grader’s spiritual retreat at the end of the school year. Each candy-gram is 50-cents. Please fill out the labels, attach exact cash or check, and drop your order in the 8th grade classroom. Candy grams will be distributed this Friday, December 14 th . If you need additional labels, please check in the 8 th grade class room or front office. Happy Holidays!

As the end of the year approaches, you may choose to make additional charitable contributions before the December 31st deadline. Your gift can be used generally or more specifically to benefit tuition assistance, curriculum enhancement or technology.

If you work for a corporation that offers a matching gift program, most likely every dollar you contribute will be matched dollar-for-dollar by your employer. If you would like more information on year-end giving, please contact Kelly Corrigan, Development Director, .
