Enjoy the weekly news update from the middle school news crew.

Our first steel beam is up as we prepare for second-floor construction in the Corrado Family Center! We are beginning to see changes weekly, if not daily, as we progress towards a warm shell and temporary occupancy. Soon the truss design will be completed, trusses will be fabricated and connected to the existing rectory roofline and the second flooring will be laid!

Since our concerted efforts reinitiated in September 2018, we are pleased to announce that 52 families have pledged or re-pledged $239,888. In addition, we received a $100,000 grant from the OCF Joseph E. Weston Public Foundation. Two-thirds of our school families have been approached and we will begin to reach out once again to parish families similarly. Thanks to all that have received and responded to our solicitations.

Our cash position is strong as we continue to receive pledge payments. This will allow us to continue to pay construction invoices before an Archdiocese loan is needed to pay the balance. Our current funding will take us to complete walls, windows, roofing, elevator, and HVAC. We are also remodeling the rectory so that Fr. Richard can transition to living back on campus when we are certified for temporary occupancy. However, we are still $1m underfunded to complete the entire project with finish construction and landscaping. As we continue to solicit funds, we ask all remaining school and parish families to be open to our call.

Thanks to all that have given so generously. We can all feel very proud of our accomplishments thus far and with God’s help, we will continue to fund and finish the Corrado Family Center. Its use as the daily school cafeteria and parish gathering place will serve SJF families for many years to come.
