Everything You Wanted To Know

Week of February 11, 2019

A Note from the Principal:

This Thursday, St. Valentine reminds us of 1 John 4:16: “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” Students are welcome to dress in “Valentine theme” free dress (red, pink, hearts, etc) and classes will celebrate Valentine’s Day in their classrooms before dismissal.

This upcoming week we have 2 days where students will not have school. On Monday, we celebrate Presidents’ Day. On Tuesday, our faculty will be gathering at St. Matthew’s in Hillsboro for our second “Mindfulness” Inservice. Our teachers will have the opportunity to meet with other Catholic school teachers and discuss various ways they help students (and themselves) be mindful in the classroom and the afternoon will be spent working on math curriculum maps. Our extended care will be offering care from 7am till 6pm on Tuesday. To register, please contact Ms. Susan Robinson .

Parking lot reminder : With the winter weather, we are noticing more cars are utilizing the drop-off and pickup line versus parking. Therefore, there are a large number of cars exiting onto 45th at the same time. In an effort to expedite the exit process, please make sure to turn right on to 45th versus waiting to turn left. Cars waiting to turn left is causing a back up in our parking lot that can trail all the way to the student crosswalk. Thank you for helping us attend to student safety.

If that is the case, you might consider Track & Field at SJF.

Kids train outdoors in a fun atmosphere and get exposure to different running and field events.
