SJF Summer ’19 SAM

Everything You Wanted To Know

Summer SAM #1 – 06/28/2019

A Note from the Principal:

Happy Summer SJF Families!  As you wrap up the second week of vacation, I hope this finds you relaxed and enjoying the extra time with family and friends.  For those new to the SJF family, Welcome! Each Tuesday during the school year our Office Administrator, Mrs. Michele Wasman, emails a weekly SAM (Special Announcements Memo) that lists various activities/events/calendar items to help keep you informed of school events.

Since Michele and I are about to begin our vacation this upcoming Monday, we thought we would send a final SAM with some helpful information as you begin to start thinking about September such as the class supply list, summer camp registration and our annual calendar so you can be up-to-date with all the latest happenings coming up this fall and throughout the next school year.

Things around our campus are very busy this summer with the continued construction on our Corrado Family Center.  Windows are being installed, roof vapor barrier has been laid out and shingles and siding will follow simultaneously.  Additionally, despite the rain this week, we are now “dried in” which will allow electrical, HVAC and plumbing to start.

Thanks to the many parish and school families that have recently pledged, extended a pledge or gifted an additional donation.  It is great to see this renewed activity and we are especially grateful as the construction progresses. We are still fundraising approximately $800k to finish our entire project, but our next milestone is temporary occupancy this Fall.  This means Fr. Richard can move back into his finished rectory while we continue to fund and finish both floors of the Corrado Family Center and landscape the surrounding grounds.

To celebrate our success with the Corrado Family Center, we will be hosting a wine and cheese event in the Corrado Family Center on Saturday, July 20th after the 4:30pm Mass. Trust me when I say the view is spectacular! All are welcome to come to this family-friendly event.

Additionally, I wanted to share that our Technology and Innovation Specialist, Mrs. Jan Tullis, will be moving to Ohio in August.  Therefore, we will be hiring a new full-time position for this upcoming year and will keep you informed as the search progresses through the summer.  We wish Mrs. Tullis and her husband the best on their new adventure and thank her for her years at SJF!

We hope you enjoy your summer break. Should you need anything during the month of July, please email us at or  though our reply may be a bit delayed since we will be on vacation too  🙂 Should you need immediate assistance, please contact the Parish Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Elizabeth Millager, at
