A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

Happy New Year! I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas holiday with family and friends and are slowly settling back into the school routine. 

Now that 2025 has begun, it’s time to start thinking about the 2025-26 school year:

• Current Student Registration Protocol for 2025-26 academic year: In an effort to reduce paperwork and due to full enrollment for most classes, we are choosing a “welcome back” approach to our current student registration for the 2025-26 school year. Therefore, if you are NOT planning on returning to SJF next year, please notify Mrs. Holub and Mrs. Wasman via email by Wednesday, January 15th to “opt out” of the re-enrollment process for next school year. If you do not opt out of auto enrollment,  the $250 per student textbook/registration fee will be added to your FACTS account by Friday, January 17th for withdrawal on Friday, January 31st and your child will be enrolled for the 25/26 school year.

• Incoming PreK or Kindergarteners: If you have a new addition to SJF for our PreK (age 4 by 9/1/25) or Kindergarten, you will need to complete an application for that child. You can access this application on your Family Portal. Under the Apply/Enroll tab, click on Application. Please complete the application for your new addition by Friday, January 17th.

• Current 8th Graders: If you are applying to one (or more) of the Catholic high schools, please note that the due date for applications is THIS FRIDAY, 1/10. Each high school has their own application process so please apply to all that you are interested in attending. If you have questions about this process, please feel free to reach out to myself and/or Ms. Lawrence.

Jan. Extended Care CalendarPLAYGROUND DUTY: 

Playground duty is from 11:25am - 1:00pm. If there is a conflict with your scheduled playground duty date, please notify Holly Hunt, our playground duty coordinator, as far in advance as possible so that she can reschedule your duty. Thank you for your help in the lunchroom and on the playground.

Please sign up for your January 2025 extended care coverage.  The January calendar is attached to this SAM, and can also be found on your FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents, or at the Cardinal Corner just outside the school office.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT 

Please join us on Tuesday, January 7th, 7pm @ the Corrado Family Center. We will be planning for the Week of Giving, 80’s Homecoming Party  (formerly Camp Cardinal).  There will be a signup sheet for volunteer opportunities at the meeting.

‘80’S HOMECOMING PARTY - SAVE THE DATE

2025-26 TUITION ASSISTANCE TIMELINE

Families applying for FACTS Grant & Aid for the 2025/2026 school year must complete their assessment and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment @ https://online.factsmgt.com/aid.  The following information is required in order for FACTS to process your application.  Completed online application

1. Payment of the application fee ($40)

2. Copies of your 2023 tax return including all schedules

3. Copies of your 2024 W-2’s for you and your spouse

4. Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security, Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation and TANF

The application fee is $40 and can be paid via credit card.  Please note the deadline to submit your online application with FACTS is January 30th.

CHESS WIZARDS

Signups are underway for winter chess classes, open to students in grades K-5. Classes are on Wednesdays from 2-3pm from Jan. 15 through March 19.  Registration information is on the attached flyer.
