SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Wanted To Know
Week of May 6, 2024
A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
This past Friday we kicked off our Annual Jogathon. In celebrating the Summer Olympics, including our own alumna Magda Skarbonkiewicz who will be representing the USA and competing in fencing, our theme this year is “Go For Gold!” During our Opening Ceremonies, our 6th grade cheer squad performed cheers and a dance routine, the students participated in relays, and our teachers had a “Parade of Nations.” For complete coverage of the celebration, head to our social media pages so you too can join in on the fun!
We need all of the families to participate to reach our goal of $55,000. So far we have about 22% of students signed up for their PledgeStar account so to get your sponsors, please make sure to register for your PledgeStar account. You can go to https://Pledgestar.com/sjf/
The jogathon is our 2nd largest fundraising event for SJF School. Students are encouraged to actively solicit pledges to gain the value of contributing to their school and education. Parents, of course, are welcome to help in this endeavor, especially with the younger ones! The funds raised from Jog-A-Thon are used for a variety of SJF needs, including technology, field trips, art literacy and improvements. Please see attachment for further details!
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Nora Jensen ([email protected]) or Lauren Bailey ([email protected])

Thank you for your help in the lunchroom and on the playground.
FACTS PARENT ALERT TEXT UPDATE
Beginning 5/6/24, text messages sent through the FACTS Parent Alert communications system will have a new short code: 317065. You are encouraged to add this new code to your saved contact information so it does not display as an unknown sender.
The text header will now be St. John Fisher’s SIS District Code: SJF-OR
Any parents who previously opted out of receiving Parent Alert text messages will need to opt out again by texting STOP.
SJF’s goal is to use the text alert feature sparingly, typically to share information about emergency school closures or early dismissals/late starts due to inclement weather.
