SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Wanted To Know
Week of October 16, 2023
A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Last week we launched our parent/teacher conference sign ups and I’m happy to report that 86% of families have scheduled their conference! Thanks for making these a priority as we work to partner with you in the education of your child(ren). If you have not signed up yet, please do so by noon tomorrow (10/18). See the attached document for the links to the teacher conference sign up sheets.
To help kick off our enrollment for the 2024-25 academic year, we are hosting a primary Open House focused for PreK, Kindergarten and 1st grade on Sunday, October 29th from 10-11am. Please pass along the attached flyer and Open House information to your friends and family that may be interested. Truly, word of mouth is our best marketing strategy so thanks for spreading the good news! Additionally, check out THIS amazing video our Marketing Coordinator, Mrs. Kathleen Birrell, put together. It already has 14,000 views!
Finally, Halloween is right around the corner and we have a number of fun events planned:

Students in grades PreK-5 and the Glee Club will be performing musical numbers, we will have a traditional Halloween parade, pumpkin pie eating contest and the pumpkin carving winners will be announced at the assembly. SJF HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL
We are pleased to be bringing the SJF Halloween Carnival to the Corrado Family Center Saturday Oct. 28 from 6 – 9 PM. The haunted house will be back, the games will be back, and we are adding a photo booth for you to be able to capture you, your friends and family in those great costumes. The Halloween Carnival is open to all families in all grades and it is especially a great opportunity for new families in all grades to meet other families. It is a great community event for SJF and the Men’s Club is proud to put it on every year.
Tickets may be purchased at the event for the games, food, snacks, drinks, beer and wine (we will accept credit cards). It is two tickets for a dollar with the tickets redeemable for games, food and beverages (i.e. games cost only one ticket for kids).
We need a few more volunteers to help with decorating the haunted house and during the event. As a reminder to our fabulous first grade families, your class is especially welcomed and encouraged to volunteer at the carnival. Decorating and cleanup are worth double volunteer hours since they are later in the evening. If you are interested in volunteering signup here:

The Halloween Carnival will be from 6 - 9 PM on Saturday, October 28th in the Corrado Family Center
