A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
January brings many exciting events at SJF. Here are a few highlights to make sure you have on your calendar:
Fri, 1/12: Noon dismissal as our faculty will be attending an Archdiocesan wide professional development workshop in the afternoon
Mon, 1/15: School is closed in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Fri, 1/19: Reenrollment for current students closes - please refer to the email sent this past Friday for details and/or email Mrs. Wasman at [email protected]
Sat, 1/20 at 4:30pm and Sun 1/21 at 9am and 11am: Selected 8th grade students will be presenting their testimonial of SJF School during our church Masses. Any SJF student that attends Mass and wears their uniform can have “free dress” on Monday, 1/22
Wed, 1/24: Family group activity to prepare for National Catholic Schools Week and Cardinal Week of Giving
Sun, 1/28: Open House at 10am for all prospective students. Any SJF student that attends Mass and wears their uniform can have “free dress” on Monday, 1/29
Mon, 1/29: National Catholic Schools Week and Cardinal Week of Giving, Camp Cardinal Week Kick Off assembly at 2:30pm
Wed, 1/31: Grandparents and Special Friends Day! Our celebration begins at 9:30am and will conclude at 11:30am - more details to follow in next week’s SAM
Thurs, 2/1: Tuition Assistance and Sheridan Scholarship applications are due - directions are below
Fri, 2/2: No School - Faith Formation Inservice for Faculty during the day and Camp Cardinal Party at 6pm! Tickets can be purchased HERE

Parents, in addition to the reminders that are in the SAM each week, you can access the Playground Duty calendar on your FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents. Playground duty is from 11:25am - 1:00pm. On your assigned day, please check in at the school office first, and then head to the Corrado Family Center. If there is a conflict with your scheduled playground duty date, please notify Holly Hunt, our playground duty coordinator, as far in advance as possible so that she can reschedule your duty. Thank you for your help in the lunchroom and on the playground.
VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - CAMP CARDINAL VOLUNTEER MEETING
SJF parents are invited to come help plan Cardinal Week events and the party at the end of the week! Do you have a favorite fireside snack? Bring some to share!

Cardinal Week is SJF's Days of Giving, and will be held January 29-February 2nd! This is our time to celebrate everything St. John Fisher and give back to our extraordinary school!
Cardinal Week (Jan. 29-Feb. 2) culminates in an EPIC party, Camp Cardinal, on Friday, February 2nd! It's not an auction, rather a really fun community party with live music, Mississippi BBQ, and camp beverages! We will have Easel Party signups you won't want to miss! Campers 21+ over only! Camp Couture highly encouraged! Register for Camp today!

2024-25 TUITION ASSISTANCE TIMELINE
The deadline for this application is Thursday, February 1st. Families applying for FACTS Grant & Aid for the 2024/2025 school year must complete their assessment and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment @ https://online.factsmgt.com/
Payment of the application fee ($40)
Copies of your 2022 tax return including all schedules
Copies of your 2022 W-2’s for you and your spouse
Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security, Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation and TANF
The application fee is $40 and can be paid via credit card. Please note the deadline to submit your online application with FACTS is February 1st.
INTRODUCING NEW SCHOLARSHIP!
St. John Fisher is proud to announce an application for a $1,000 scholarship to honor Mrs. Darlene Sheridan.She was an amazing educator for over 30 years at St. John Fisher.
To apply, please submit a one-page essay describing how this scholarship can benefit your child and family. In particular please include any specific financial needs, areas that SJF addresses that wouldn’t be possible without assistance, or what you feel to be important. All applications are reviewed solely by Mrs.Sheridan and not shared with other members of the SJF community or staff. The essay should also include the parent names, name of child(ren) at SJF, and any other family members. Please include a postal address, email address, and telephone number.

The successful applicant will be notified from Mrs. Sheridan directly and a payment will be made directly to St. John Fisher in the awardee’s name. The mission of the scholarship is to support families in sending their children to SJF where they may grow in their Christian faith, academics, and overall social being.
LOST & FOUND
We will have the contents of the Lost & Found closet out at the end of this week. Come take a look and encourage your students to as well! Unclaimed uniform pieces go down to uniform exchange; everything else goes to Goodwill.
CHESS WIZARDS - WINTER 2024
Registration for the winter session of Chess Wizards is open.
Classes begin 1/17, final class of the session is 3/20
Classes are Wednesdays from 2-3pm
