SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Want to Know
Week of January 10, 2022
FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Yesterday I sent quite a lengthy letter detailing the updated CDC guidelines so if you have not had a chance to read that, please visit your email. Our MULTIPLE layered mitigation strategies within our school (masks, cleaning, distancing in seats and at lunch, high quality HVAC system, air filters, testing on site as needed, staying home when ill, etc) all play into our ability to maintain a safe environment for all. Thank you for all your work!
Looking ahead with regards to communication of cases, given that Omicron appears to be quite contagious, if/when there is a positive case that had exposure at SJF, we will be sending emails directly to a particular class versus a "mass" email to all families. The notification will be similar to what we have sent in the past, but we will change the heading to "Dear Parents in X Grade" versus "Dear St. John Fisher School Families." We will also notify any sibling classes as well. For example, if an 8th grade student tested positive, we would send the 8th grade class a letter stating "A student in 8th grade has tested positive for COVID." Then, if they had a sibling in 5th grade, we would send 5th grade a letter stating "A sibling of a student in 5th grade has tested positive for COVID."
Stay well all and thanks for keeping our community safe and healthy!

TEAM UNIS/PORTLAND EMBROIDERY IS MOVING

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT SJF
Need volunteer hours? We have 2 opportunities for school families to fulfill their volunteer hours needed for the remainder of the school year.
Bottle Return for SJF Parish: Volunteer would be responsible for taking the recycled cans and bottles located at the side of the church to the bottle drop. Bags and labels provided and can be done any day or time of the week.
Parish Weekly Collection Counter: (Can be split between several families if needed) The head of our Weekly Collection Counter will be retiring soon and SJF Parish is in need of finding a replacement for this position. The job requires volunteers to spend approximately 2 hours per week in the parish office to count the collection donations from the weekend Masses. Training and weekly assistance will be provided.
Please contact Kathleen Birrell at mailto:kbirrell@johnfisher.
