FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Next week, Catholic Schools across our country will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week. Each day I recognize the amazing opportunity that our school has to assist our families with the formation of our students, and to develop them into Active Christians, Engaged Learners and Responsible Citizens. Thank you for being our partner in their education!
At St. John Fisher, we have a number of events to celebrate National Catholic Schools Week:
Saturday, Jan 28:
Students are invited to wear their school uniform to the vigil Mass at 4:30pm. Those who do are welcome to wear “free dress” on Monday!
Men’s Club will host our family-friendly BINGO night! The event starts at 5:30pm in the Corrado Family Center and there are lots of fun prizes for kids and adults! You can purchase advance tickets at a discounted price HERE
Sunday, Jan 29:
Students are invited to wear their school uniform to Mass (9am, 11 am or 5:30pm). Those who do are welcome to wear “free dress” on Monday!
Incoming families are invited to our Open House at 10am
Monday, Jan 30:
Students that attended Mass during the weekend may wear “Free Dress”

Grandparent/Special Friends Day! Please RSVP HERE.
Visitors are welcome to come to the school starting at 9:30am to pick up their SJF student. Our campus will have activities such as student work displayed in the halls, a book fair in the old cafeteria downstairs and coffee and donuts in our Corrado Family Center. At 10:30am we welcome all to attend our school Mass in the church. Following Mass, we will invite our guests to return their student to their class to resume the remainder of the day (concluding at 2:05pm - typical Wednesday dismissal).

Teachers will have a faith formation inservice-there is no school for students

PLAYGROUND DUTY REMINDERS:
Playground duty is from 11:25-1:00. The January duty calendar is on your FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents. On your assigned day, please check in at the school office and then head to the Corrado Family Center! It is important to arrive on time on your scheduled playground duty date. When you don’t show up, three different teachers must give up their lunch periods to cover the primary, intermediate, and middle school lunch recess periods. If you have a conflict with your scheduled duty date, or you are able to help out on a date that needs coverage, please contact our playground duty coordinator, Holly Hunt, at mailto:[email protected]. Thank you for helping our students in the lunchroom and on the playground.

MEN’S CLUB BINGO NIGHT

GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY
We are looking forward to welcoming our Grandparents and Special Friends on Wednesday, 2/1 from 9:30-11:30am. In an effort to help with planning, please complete this Google Form to RSVP for your Grandparent and/or Special Friend. More details are on the attached flyer.
Grandparents’ & Special Friends’ Day Library Book Sale- Come browse and shop all the books waiting to be added to the SJF library. Lots of details are on the attached flyer. Parents, Mrs. Burd would welcome your help with setup and sales for this event. Email her at mailto:[email protected]
CAMP CARDINAL TICKETS ON SALE!
We’re getting close to our Cardinal Week of Giving and Camp Cardinal celebration. Head to the QR code or HERE to purchase tickets to the adult camp celebration on Friday, February 10th at 6pm. –Buy your Camp Cardinal tickets by this Friday, 1/27 and get one free drink ticket per ticket purchased!--
The week of Feb. 6-10 is Camp Cardinal Week for all our SJF students! Each day has a different camp theme:
Monday: Pajama/Onesie/Comfy/ Crazy Hair Day
Tuesday: Camo/Tie Dye -Camo colors (brown, dk green) and Tie Dye Day
Wednesday: Fancy Dress Day (Mass) (church wear/MayCrowning wear)
Thursday: Campwear Day ( flannels, checkers, beanies, cargo pants, long sleeves, hiking wear.
Friday: Class Color Day (each class will have designated color theme)
MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE FEBRUARY 24TH
SJF is hosting the next middle school dance on Friday, February 24th from 6:30-8:30pm for students that attend SJF, Holy Trinity and St. Cecilia. Details for our “Neon Nights Glow Dance” and the RSVP link (due Friday, 2/10) are attached. See you there!
2023-24 TUITION ASSISTANCE TIMELINE
The deadline for this application is Wednesday, February 1st. Families applying for FACTS Grant & Aid for the 2023/2024 school year must complete their assessment and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment @ https://online.factsmgt.com/
Payment of the application fee ($40)
Copies of your 2021 tax return including all schedules
Copies of your 2021 W-2’s for you and your spouse
Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security, Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation and TANF
The application fee is $40 and can be paid via credit card. Please note the deadline to submit your online application with FACTS is February 1st.

SMA SUMMER CAMP PROGRAMS FOR GIRLS
Registration for St. Mary’s Academy summer camps is officially open!
St. Mary’s Academy camps are filled with adventures, hands-on activities, and a variety of fun games to pique every girl’s interests. All camps are for girls entering grades 5-6 or 7-8 this fall 2023.
