A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Yesterday marked our first day of “Cardinal Week.” 

 

As mentioned earlier this year, our goal this week is to raise $120,000, or roughly $800 per family. We are asking each family to contribute generously to help to meet this goal. In addition to our fundraising efforts, our focus is on participation from all our families to their comfort level. After our first day of fundraising, here’s the tally on class participation for giving:

        Kindergarten: 66%

• 4th: 52%

• Total Donations (as of 8:00am 1/30): $45,996 + matching donations still coming in!

Parents, in addition to the reminders that are in the SAM each week, you can access the Playground Duty calendar on your FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents. Playground duty is from 11:25am - 1:00pm. On your assigned day, please check in at the school office first, and then head to the Corrado Family Center. If there is a conflict with your scheduled playground duty date, please notify Holly Hunt, our playground duty coordinator, as far in advance as possible so that she can reschedule your duty. Thank you for your help in the lunchroom and on the playground.

GRANDPARENTS & SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY LIBRARY BOOK SALE

Don’t forget that all grandparents and special friends are invited to the Library to browse and shop this Wednesday January 31st between 9:30 - 10:30 to *purchase books for our library shelves.Details about this fun SJF tradition are included on the attached flyer.

CAMP CARDINAL PARENTS’ PARTY

Parents, tickets sales for this Friday’s party have been extended, but the final deadline is today!

Join us Friday, 2/2 for the Camp Cardinal Party. TICKET SALES CLOSE TODAY! Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Wear your favorite camping attire and compete to win the costume contest!

2024-25 TUITION ASSISTANCE TIMELINE

The deadline for this application is Thursday, February 1st.  Families applying for FACTS Grant & Aid for the 2024/2025 school year must complete their assessment and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment @ https://online.factsmgt.com/aid.  The following information is required in order for FACTS to process your application.  Completed online application

1. Payment of the application fee ($40)

2. Copies of your 2022 tax return including all schedules

3. Copies of your 2022 W-2’s for you and your spouse

4. Copies of supporting documentation for Social Security, Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation and TANF

The application fee is $40 and can be paid via credit card.  Please note the deadline to submit your online application with FACTS is this Thursday, February 1st.

 

SIGN UP FOR FEB. EXTENDED CARE

January is almost over, and it’s time to sign up for February extended care coverage.  The February calendar is attached to this SAM and is on your FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents.

 

ALTAR GUILD CANDY SALE

The SJF Altar Guild will host their annual Valentine’s Day Truffle & Fudge sale this weekend and next (Feb. 3-4, Feb. 10-11) after all Masses.  Assorted truffles and fudge are available to purchase from the Brigittine Monks! Additional information is on the attached flyer.

 

M.U.S.E. BAND STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Clara Ortiz is our Band Student of the Month!

 

Clara plays the clarinet in the SJF advanced band as well as the MUSE Honor Band.  She altar serves at Saturday vigil on a regular basis and has also run the scoreboard at her younger sisters’ volleyball games. Her favorite book is The Heroes of Olympus: House of Hades by Rick Riordan. Clara’s favorite movie is “The Princess Bride” and volleyball is her favorite sport. Her favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip. Clara’s younger twin sisters Francis and Olympia joined band this year and play the clarinet and the flute.

We love having Clara in band!
