SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Want to Know
Week of February 6, 2023
FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Yesterday marked our first day of “Cardinal Week.” With kids, faculty and staff in pajamas and crazy hair, I sure had some interesting tours yesterday as I brought around three families looking to join our community. Truly, the energy at SJF is alive not only for those within our school, but those wanting to be a part of SJF as well. Thanks for sharing the Cardinal Spirit around SW Portland!
As mentioned earlier this year, our goal this week is to raise $120,000, or roughly $800 per family. We are asking each family to contribute generously to help to meet this goal. In addition to our fundraising efforts, our focus is on participation from all our families to their comfort level. After our first day of fundraising, here’s the tally on class participation for giving:
Kindergarten: 77%
3rd: 35%
2nd: 29%
5th: 28%
8th: 24%
7th:21%
4th: 19%
1st: 15%
6th:12%
Total Donations (as of 8:00am 2/7): $49,498 + matching donations still coming in!
Additionally, we have secured a gift from a donor who will match all gifts of $1,000 or more during this week of giving. Please CLICK HERE to make your donation. Thank you for your support of our fantastic school!

It’s with great pleasure that I introduce you to our new 6th grade teacher - Ms. Danielle Bridges. Ms. Bridges grew up in the Portland Metro area attending St. Pius, Jesuit and Carroll College. She received her Masters of Teaching from Western Governors University in Utah and has been working at Holy Trinity in Beaverton for the past year and a half in many roles including their long-term 5th grade teacher and as their in-house substitute covering all classes Kindergarten through 8th grade.
I want to thank Mrs Birrell for her work with the class during this transition and Deacon Scott Kolbet, Mr. DeVille and Mrs. Burd for assisting me with the hiring process. We warmly welcome Ms. Bridges this Monday and are looking forward to a great end to the school year.
