SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Want to Know
Week of February 7, 2022
FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Welcome to the mid-year mark! We have officially completed half of the school year and progress reports will be ready this Thursday. With our new Student Management System FACTS, we anticipate that we will be posting progress reports directly to your parent portal
Since this is our first time not sending home a “hard copy,” we will make sure to eblast all families so you are aware when they are ready for you to view.
On Monday, St. Valentine reminds us of 1 John 4:16: “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." YEARBOOK SPECIAL MESSAGE REQUESTS
Every year for the yearbook there is a dedicated place where parents and families can put special messages that they would like to share with their child. It is not required for people to send a message, but we know that it is greatly appreciated by the students. The message can be something along the lines of congratulating your child for completing a year of school. Just a reminder to keep the letter that you are submitting to 50 words or less.
For example
Dear Scott Smithton, (3rd)
We are so proud of you! You have worked really hard this year and always have a positive attitude. You are also a kind and respectful young man. Keep up the great work!
Love,
Mom and Dad
Your response needs to be submitted before March 18, 2022. Please send the message to the email address, [email protected]
Lastly, if there are any questions about the special message then email Mr. Maher at [email protected].
FREE DRESS DAY REMINDERS
A few reminders for the Valentine’s free dress day next Monday, 2/14:
Clothing worn for free dress should not be torn or ripped.
Unless a free dress occasion is specifically themed as a pajama day, the expectation is that students are in clothes, not pajamas. The Valentine’s free dress on Feb.14 is not a pajama themed free dress.
The following excerpt concerning free dress day guidelines can be found in the 2021-22 Student Parent Handbook on page 19:
“On "Free Dress" Days, student dress may be casual, but appropriate for the school setting. All clothing must be clean, presentable, modest and without inappropriate slogans or pictures (e.g., non-Christian in nature, or promoting drug/alcohol, sexual connotations, “put down” phrases, etc.). Jeans and athletic sweatpants are allowed. Shorts, including sport shorts, must be no higher than three inches above the knee. Pants and shorts must be worn fitted at the waist, as opposed to "baggy" and oversized or too tight and revealing. Leggings, tights, jeggings, etc. worn as pants are not allowed because they are too tight fitting.”
