A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
In preparation for the end of the second trimester next Friday and spring break/Holy Week the week of March 25-April 1, we have a number of events happening at St. John Fisher that I wanted to bring to your attention:
STEM Fair: PreK through Eighth grade students will be proudly displaying projects they have completed for family and friends from 2:00-3:05pm on Tuesday, March 14th. Friends and family are invited to this fun event showcasing our students' work.
St. Patrick’s Day Festivities: In the spirit of St. Patrick, our Men’s Club will be hosting a traditional St. Patrick’s Day Dinner on Thursday, March 14th at 7pm. All dads, grandparents and friends (over 21 years old please) are welcome to come.
Living Stations of the Cross: As we continue to prepare for Easter, our 8th grade students will be presenting a Living Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 15th at 2:15pm. All are welcome to come to this event in our church.
Men’s Club Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast: On Sunday, March 17th, our Men’s Club will be putting together a pancake breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt, beginning after the 9am Mass. To assist and volunteer for this event, please CLICK HERE for the signup genius.
Second Trimester Report Card Distribution: Report cards will be sent home with students on Thursday, 3/21.
Sports Theme Free Dress: To celebrate the end of the second trimester and March Madness, we will have a “sports theme” free dress on Friday, March 22nd.
Holy Week/Spring Break/Easter Monday Holiday: SJF School is closed from Monday, March 25th - Monday, April 1st for Holy Week/Spring Break/Easter Monday holiday. Here’s a great graphic for you to keep you informed of our parish events for Holy Week:

Parents, in addition to the reminders that are in the SAM each week, you can access the Playground Duty calendar on your FACTS Family Portal under Resource Documents. Playground duty is from 11:25am -1:00pm. On your assigned day, please check in at the school office first, and then head to the Corrado Family Center. If there is a conflict with your scheduled playground duty date, please notify Holly Hunt, our playground duty coordinator, as far in advance as possible so that she can reschedule your duty. Thank you for your help in the lunchroom and on the playground.
MARCH EXTENDED CARE
Please be sure that you’ve signed up for March extended care! The March 2024 signup calendar is attached to this SAM and on the Resource Documents tab of your FACTS Family Portal.
LOG YOUR FAMILY VOLUNTEER HOURS
As we approach the final trimester of the school year, we want to remind families to record their Family Volunteer Hours.
Hours Required: 30 hours for existing SJF families; 20 hours for new SJF families for the 2023-24 school year. Ideally, 10 volunteer hours are associated with a fundraising activity (Cardinal Days of Giving, Community Dinner, Jogathon)
Hours are tabulated from May 15, 2023 through May 14, 2024 with a $50 value attached to each hour. A multiple household family is expected to complete 15 hours per household
To record your volunteer hours log on to your FACTS Family Portal and click on Family Home. Select yourself from the dropdown and then click Add in the box in the center of your screen.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: EARN 5-10 HRS WITH SJF HOT LUNCH PROGRAM
What is needed:
4–5 volunteers for Monthly (or Bi-Monthly) hot lunch shifts until the end of the school year.
How it works:
Location: Corrado Family Center
3-month Commitment: March, April and May 2024
Frequency: once or twice per month (for a total of 3–6 shifts)
Shift times: 11:20am – 1:00pm
Days needed: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Available volunteer positions:

2 nd Wednesday of the month volunteer (3/13, 4/10 and 5/8)
3 rd Wednesday of the month volunteer (3/20, 4/17, and 5/22)

HELP NEEDED FOR EASTER EGG HUNT & PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The Men’s Club needs volunteers for the upcoming Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast. This is fun, family event and your time absolutely counts towards your family volunteer hours requirement. Signup using the link below:

The registration fee is $235 per participant (LATE FEE: $285 Effective 4/2/2024)
If necessary, depending on current inventory: Uniform order link will be sent to registrants at a later date.
Practices will be at Valley Catholic High School on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30pm (Time may change, depending on VCHS needs).
Meets are on four Saturdays beginning April 13th plus the championship meets on May 11 (younger grades) and May 18-19 (older grades).

LA SALLE PREP - YOUTH SUMMER PROGRAMS
Morning, afternoon, and full-day camp options are available. Full-day attendees participate in both morning and afternoon sessions, with a supervised lunch hour between sessions. Camps run from June 17th through July 19th. Camps are open to students entering grades 1st - 3rd, 4th - 6th, and 6th - 8th this fall. 6th graders have the choice to select their preferred group.
