SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Wanted To Know
Week of April 22, 2024
A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Next Friday, May 3rd our faculty will spend the afternoon reviewing what went well this year and what we would like to work on for next year. In an effort to gather all voices/input, please take a moment to complete THIS survey by Wednesday, May 1st. For your time, we will give you 1 Family Volunteer Hour. Thanks for your feedback.
Additionally, next Friday marks our halfway point through the final trimester of the school year. As we wrap up these final weeks of school, we have many reasons to celebrate:
Tuesday, April 23rd and Wednesday, April 24th our 5th - 8th grade thespians will be performing Annie Jr. on stage in our gym. The curtain will go up both nights at 6:30pm. The show is free for all attendees.
Wednesday, May 1st, we honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus, by hosting a traditional “May Crowning.” All students are asked to bring fresh flowers to the Corrado Family Center on this Wednesday morning. This celebration begins at 1:15pm in the church and all are welcome!
Additionally, all students may choose to have “special” free dress on this day (or wear the traditional school uniform). When helping your student decide what to wear on this day, Deacon Scott suggests you think of Easter and weddings. Please see below, or the Student/Parent Handbook (pg. 18), for more specifics on the dress policy:
On "Special Dress Up" days (for example May Crowning), student dress should be more “dressy” than casual. No jeans, shorts, sweats, or t-shirts are permitted. “Skorts", skirts, jumpers, and dresses must be no higher than three inches above the knee. Sleeveless dresses/blouses/shirts are not allowed unless shoulders are covered by a sweater, shawl, etc. at all times. For hygienic reasons, socks or tights must be worn at all times. Shoes must fully cover the toes and heels. Girls may change into open-toed shoes for the ceremony only.
Friday, May 17th is our Annual Jogathon, Talent Show and family BBQ after school! Details for the Jogathon and family BBQ will be sent home after our kick off assembly on Friday, May 3rd at 8:20am. The Talent Show will begin at 1pm in our gym and all students are eligible to perform. In order to create the show lineup, performers need to show Mr. Vecchione their act during their music class the week of May 6th.
