SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Want to Know
Week of April 25, 2022
FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
This Friday marks our halfway point through the final trimester of the school year. As we wrap up these final six weeks of school, we have many reasons to celebrate:
Monday, May 2nd, we honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus, by hosting a traditional “May Crowning.” All students are asked to bring fresh flowers to the cafeteria on Monday morning. This celebration begins at 2:15pm in the church and all are welcome!
Additionally, all students may choose to have “special” free dress on this day (or wear the traditional school uniform). When helping your student decide what to wear on this day, Deacon Scott suggests you think of Easter and weddings. Please see below, or the Student/Parent Handbook (pg. 19), for more specifics on the dress policy:
On "Special Dress Up" days (for example May Crowning), student dress should be more “dressy” than casual. No jeans, shorts, sweats, or t-shirts are permitted. “Skorts", skirts, jumpers, and dresses must be no higher than three inches above the knee. Sleeveless dresses/blouses/shirts are not allowed unless shoulders are covered by a sweater, shawl, etc. at all times. For hygienic reasons, socks or tights must be worn at all times. Shoes must fully cover the toes and heels. Girls may change into open-toed shoes for the ceremony only.
Tuesday, May 10th and Wednesday, May 11th our 5th - 8th grade thespians will be performing Grease Jr. on stage in our gym. The curtain will go up both nights at 6:30pm and is complementary for all attendees.
Friday, May 20th is our Annual Jogathon, the return of our Talent Show and a family BBQ after school! Details for the Jogathon and family BBQ will be sent home next Monday. The Talent Show will begin at 1pm in our gym and all students are eligible to perform. In order to create the show lineup, performers need to show Mr. Vecchione their acts in advance of the show. They will have a chance to do this during the week of May 9. Additional details on this will be coming soon, so get to work on your act!
