A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
Welcome back from spring break! This final trimester always seems to go by so quickly and this week certainly keeps us on our toes with lots of events happening on campus. Here’s a small calendar of events to make sure you have on your calendar as we work through the first half of April:
Wednesday, 4/2 and Thursday, 4/3 at 6:30pm: Lights, Camera, Action as our 4th - 8th graders perform the musical Xanadu Jr. Special thanks to Mr. Vecchione, our music and drama teacher, for inspiring the gift of music and for our thespians participating in the show. Break a leg!
Friday, 4/4 at 6:00pm: SJF School will be the host for our parish Stations of the Cross and Soup Supper this evening. Special thanks to Maura Timoney-DeVille, mom of Francis in PreK, for organizing this spiritual event for our parish and school community. Saturday, 4/5 at 5:30pm: Men’s Club will be hosting their annual BINGO Night! Come bring the whole family for some friendly competition with a chance to win fantastic prizes! Food, beverages, BINGO cards and the ever popular “BINGO daubers” will be available for purchase - see you there!
Thursday, 4/10 at 6:30pm: Our parish will be having our Lenten Reconciliation Service. We will have many priests on hand to make this sacrament meaningful as you continue to prepare for Easter.
Sunday, 4/13 at 11am: In addition to our traditional Mass during the 11am service, we will have an ecumenical liturgy with our neighbors from St. Luke Lutheran for Palm Sunday.

PLAYGROUND DUTY:
Playground duty is from 11:25am - 1:00pm. If there is a conflict with your scheduled playground duty date, please notify Holly Hunt, our playground duty coordinator, as far in advance as possible so that she can reschedule your duty. Thank you for your help in the lunchroom and on the playground.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Stations of the Cross & Soup Supper April 4
As part of the ongoing Friday station of the cross series, SJF is hosting the stations and soup-supper Friday April 4th at 6pm. We are seeking student-volunteers grades 4-8 to read through stations as we pray together. Directly following the reading of the stations, we will join for a simple soup supper in the CFC. Students who want to read should have their parents signup using the link below. For everyone interested in attending even without reading, please rsvp using the link below to help with a headcount for dinner!

FINAL MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE OF THE YEAR
Our final middle school dance of the year will be held at Holy Trinity on Friday, April 25th from 6-8pm. Our students can enjoy a fancy night out on the town and get dressed up as the theme is “Paris at Night.” Registration can be found HERE, Code of Conduct to be signed can be found HERE and all details can be found on the attached flyer.
FREE CPR CLASS FOR ADULTS ON APRIL 25TH
On Friday, April 25th from 10-11:30am there will be a free adult CPR class that OHSU is sponsoring in partnership with the AHA. This class is located at Bridge Meadows (8502 N Wayland Ave, Portland, OR 97203).
SUMMER CAMPS AT CENTRAL CATHOLIC
Central Catholic High School is excited to share the many ways students can enrich their summers (and have fun) here on campus. In addition to hosting a wide array of athletic camps–that span ages and sports–they also offer a dedicated set of camps just for middle school students (entering grades 6th-8th in Fall 2025). Middle School camps include one for aspiring babysitters, chefs, CSI agents, and more.
