SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Wanted To KnowJune 29, 2023
A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Happy Summer SJF Families! As we wrap up the second week of vacation, I hope this finds you relaxed and enjoying the extra time with family and friends. For those new to the SJF family, Welcome! Each Tuesday our Office Administrator, Mrs. Michele Wasman, emails a weekly SAM (Special Announcements Memo) that lists various activities/events/calendar items to help keep you informed of school events. Since Michele and I are about to begin our vacation this upcoming Monday, we thought we would send a final SAM with some helpful information as you begin to start thinking about September:
WELCOME MS. STRINE
We are looking forward to opening up our new PreK this September and earlier this month we were notified that Sister Truc Grace was moving to California. Therefore we have hired Ms. Kimberly Strine to teach our newest students. She grew up in Ashland, Ohio and earned a BA in Child Development, MA in Early Childhood Educational Leadership as well as a MA in Teaching from George Fox University. She taught at Valley Catholic Early Learning School for 10 years and St. Rose for 1 year and was the program specialist at Kindercare for 3 years. Mrs. Carrie McCarthy and I were very impressed with not only her experience teaching this exact age group, but her passion for students and love of learning. Welcome Ms. Strine!
WELCOME MR. BOYER
I’m excited to announce that Mr. Drew Boyer will be our Extended Care Director! After owning and managing a successful restaurant in Oregon City, he realized that he wanted to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Therefore, he began his pursuit of his teaching license this past school year and is anticipated to graduate from George Fox with his Masters of Arts in Teaching this fall. Additionally, his son Lukka is in our upcoming 2nd grade so he is familiar with our school community. He will begin in early August to transition with Ms. Robinson so if you see him at summer camp, make sure to welcome him to SJF (as an official employee that is!).
