A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Now that the school year is back in full swing, our entire SJF faculty and staff are looking forward to seeing you at Back to School night. Tomorrow night (Sept 13th) is the middle school Back to School Night starting at 6:30pm and our PreK-5 Back to School Night is next Wednesday (Sept 20th) beginning at 6:30pm. Both sessions will begin in the Corrado Family Center. See you then!
Field trips and class parties are just around the corner and we greatly appreciate our parent volunteers! If you will be volunteering on campus this year (CYO coaches, hot lunch, classroom helpers, room parents, field trip chaperones, etc.), you are required to complete the following before beginning any volunteer service.
New Volunteers (New Family at SJF or you have not previously volunteered at school):
The background check and policy acknowledgement form are completed online through Praesidium Academy, the training portal used in the Archdiocese for all parent volunteers.
St. John Fisher will host C.A.S.E. (Creating A Safe Environment) training sessions on the following dates: Wed, 9/13 at 5pm (just prior to Gr 6-8 Back to School Night), Wed, 9/20 at 5pm (just prior to Gr PreK-5 Back to School Night) and Fri, 9/22 at 8:30am. All new parent volunteers are required to attend this in-person training. Advance registration is not required. A list of additional training sessions taking place throughout the diocese this fall is attached to this SAM.

Playground duty is from 11:25am - 1:00pm. On your assigned day, please check in at the school office first, and then head to the Corrado Family Center. It is important to arrive on time on your scheduled duty date. When you don’t show up, three different teachers must give up their lunch periods to cover the primary, intermediate, and middle school lunch recess periods.
If there is a conflict with your scheduled playground duty date, please notify Holly Hunt, our playground duty coordinator, as far in advance as possible so that she can reschedule your duty. Thank you for your help in the lunchroom and on the playground.
