SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Wanted To Know
Week of 11-11-24
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
This week is our final week for the “High 5 For Ronald McDonald House.” The concept is that classes will generate a donation that represents $5 for every student in their class. For example, 8th grade with 25 students would raise $125. If we accomplish this goal, our total donation would be $1,125.
BREAKING NEWS!!! We have a generous donor that has offered to match our fundraising efforts for Ronald McDonald House up to $5,000! Should you choose to donate via check, please make your check payable to St. John Fisher as we will make 1 collective payment to Ronald McDonald House. Thanks for your commitment to supporting our goal of building active Christians and responsible citizens through service!
With the arrival of colder weather, we have also seen an uptick of illness. A good rule of thumb is that if a child has a fever (over 100.4), diarrhea, vomit or is not well enough to be outside during recess, please keep the child at home. Students must be fever-free and symptoms reduced for 24 hours without medication before being readmitted to class. Parents are asked to notify the school office by 8:15 a.m. each day that a child will be absent from school because of illness. Middle school students should email their teachers notifying them of their absence. Students who become ill (fever, diarrhea or vomit) during the school day will be held in the school office and/or in the child’s classroom based on emergency need/care. Parents will be contacted to take the child home. Thanks for your cooperation in keeping our community safe and healthy this winter season.
Finally, this weekend marks the end of the CYO fall sports season. Our SJF Cardinal Volleyball teams will be traveling around the city playing in the “Spike” tournament and you can find the complete schedule HERE. Best of luck to you all at the tournament and congratulations on a great season!
