SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO
Everything You Want to Know
Week of September 12, 2022
FROM THE PRINCIPAL:
For housekeeping this week, I would like to let you know about our Extended Care program! As a working mom myself, I know how important it is to provide quality and consistent care before and after school for the students of St. John Fisher School. Directed by Susan Robinson and supported by our lead teachers Marge Meneghello and Carrie McCarthy, our program follows all regulations set forth by the Children’s Care Division of the State of Oregon. Our goal is to provide students with a positive atmosphere where they will have opportunities to continue their learning through hands-on activities and recreational fun. Additionally, for those students with homework, a designated staff member will assist students in completing their assignments.
The hours of extended care are Monday through Friday from 7:00am until opening and after school until 6:00pm. Additionally, we provide care on both half and full day professional development days, such as the upcoming teacher inservice on Friday, October 7th. If you have any questions regarding the program, feel free to contact Susan Robinson at [email protected].
Additionally, safety is very important to us. In order to keep our school safe for our students, staff and parents, all visitors are required to stop by the office to sign in and obtain a visitors badge. This is necessary regardless of the length of time you will be in the building or on campus and includes parents, siblings, relatives, visitors, etc. Also, we request that all students/parents enter through the main doors whether on time or late. Students should stop in the office to obtain a “late pass” if arriving at school after 8:15 a.m. If you are picking your child/ren up early from school, parents need to sign their students(s) out at the office while the office calls them from class. Finally, please remember to drive slowly in our parking lot at all hours as our facility is used around the clock between school, parish and Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) sporting events. Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep our school a safe place for everyone.
