A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Happy Summer and welcome to our 2023-24 school year! I hope you all are enjoying this time with friends and family, and our warm weather. Here at St. John Fisher School we are gearing up for another fantastic year! Our PreK is under construction, the gym is getting a fresh coat of finish, classrooms are being prepped and we are busily preparing for the faculty and staff to come back on August 28th.

As we look towards the first day of school, we will be hosting a casual community event and uniform sale on Thursday, August 31st from 2:30pm - 4pm. This is a great opportunity for you to come say hello to your teacher and reconnect with your friends. Students in grades 1st - 8th are welcome to bring their school supplies, so that they are ready to go on the first day of school.

OPEN POSITIONS: ACADEMIC SUPPORT COORDINATOR (Part-Time) and INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT (Full Time)
After many years at SJF, Ms. Reyni Racklin, our 4th - 8th Academic Support Coordinator, will be retiring from her role at SJF. We wish her all the best in her next adventure. With this recent vacancy, we are looking for a new member of our faculty. You can find the official job post HERE. Additionally, with our new PreK program, we will have Mrs. McCarthy transition to support our PreK teacher Mrs. Strine and our youngest SJF students. Therefore, we have an opening for a full-time Instructional Assistant for 1st grade. You can find that official job post HERE. POPSICLES & PLAY
Preschool and kindergarten families, join us on Saturday, Aug. 12 from noon to 2pm to enjoy some popsicles and playtime while you learn more about SJF. Flyer is attached to this SAM. RSVP to Mrs. Wasman. See you there and feel free to bring a friend!
UNIFORMS
Uniforms are required on the first day of school. We will have gently used uniform pieces for sale on Thursday, Aug. 31 from 2:30-4:00 pm during our School Supply Dropoff and Uniform Sale event.

School Uniforms by Tommy Hilfiger: carries all uniform items
Portland Embroidery: carries our “spirit sweatshirt” (gray or navy for 23-24 and option for last name on back) AND our NEW 6th - 8th PE Uniform (required for all 6th - 8th grade students)
Children’s Place: carries basic uniform items without a logo at a great price (red and/or white polo top and blue shorts/pants)
Target: Dress code compliant uniform pieces (red and/or white polo top and blue shorts/pants)
CYO VOLLEYBALL
The CYO volleyball season will be here soon! Registration is now OPEN! Click here to register: https://www.
Register as soon as possible! The registration fee will increase on September 1st and your daughter cannot practice until registered.
Practice days/times are TBD, and can start the week of August 16. Practices are twice per week with 8 regular season games every Saturday, starting in mid-September.There will be preseason and postseason tournaments. The Challenge Tournament will be Saturday, September 16th and the Spike Tournament will be November 13th-18th.
Uniforms- Jerseys ordered from Gear-Up Sports. (If you have one from previous seasons, they can be reused. We will send out order information in August. Black shorts and knee pads can be purchased through GearUp or separately.)

FRED MEYER COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM
Thank you, Freddie’s! St. John Fisher earned $236.98 from 75 households participating in the Community Rewards program during the second quarter of this year. Information on how to link your rewards card to SJF is attached to this SAM.
