SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MEMO - Everything You Wanted To Know Week of May 27, 2024 A NOTE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL Exciting news for our parish and school community - we have learned who our new pastor will be - Fr. Valentine Joseph GASPARRAJ. Fr. Valentine has been a priest for 40 years. In his career, he has been a professor of theology in one of the major seminaries in India. He has a PhD in theology from Catholic University in Paris, France and has worked as pastor in two parishes in the diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin for 12 years. He has come to Portland directly from India after finishing his term in the seminary as a teacher. Let’s continue the SJF tradition of hospitality and we can all look forward to welcoming him to our community on July 1, 2024.

What an amazing celebration for our entire community! Starting with the Jogathon, then moving to the Talent Show and wrapping up with the Community BBQ, our faculty, staff, students and families really brought out the love for our SJF community. Special thanks to all our volunteers, particularly our Jogathon Chairs Nora Jensen and Lauren Bailey, our Talent Show coordinator Mr. Don Vecchione and our Community BBQ coordinators Ashley Reese and Samantha Hamilton. In celebrating the Summer Olympics, including our own alumna Magda Skarbonkiewicz who will be representing the USA and competing in fencing, our theme this year is “Go For Gold!” During our Opening Ceremonies, our 6th grade cheer squad performed cheers and a dance routine, the students participated in relays, and our teachers had a “Parade of Nations.” For complete coverage of the celebration, head to our social media pages so you too can join in on the fun!
