I joined the St. John Fisher school community in the Fall of 2024 as a Kindergarten through third grade Academic Support Specialist. I received my bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University. After our sons were diagnosed with dyslexia, I decided to return to school. I earned a Masters in Education, Special Education from Grand Canyon University and I am now earning a Reading Endorsement from Pacific University. The last couple years I focused on helping children learn to read and earned my Associate certification from the Orton Gillingham Academy and Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist from the Center for Effective Reading Instruction.
My husband received a job transfer which moved our family to the Portland area in 2014, from Arizona. We have two sons who are now in college and just became empty nesters! When not at work, we enjoy taking in sporting events, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and just enjoying the outdoors when we can. Raising our sons in the Catholic faith, we encourage our boys to live their faith through their actions each day, helping neighbors and the community.
I am looking forward to getting to know the students and partnering with families on their education journey. Please reach out anytime if you have any questions.
