Hi! My name is Rita Schoenheit, and I am your 4th Grade teacher. I was born in Portland, Oregon, and am the oldest of 7 children. I enjoy being part of a large family and believe it has helped prepare me for life in the classroom.
I attended Central Catholic High School and loved the opportunities the school provided for service in the community, as well as the academic and spiritual environment. Following high school, I attended Gonzaga University where I studied Psychology and Elementary Education and received my Bachelor’s Degree. In December 2008, I also completed a Master’s program in Curriculum and Instruction at Portland State University.
It has been my privilege to work as part of the St. John Fisher community for the past fourteen years. In November 2007, I was hired as a long-term substitute teacher in kindergarten and worked in the 1st Grade classroom with Mrs. Joanne Grenz. The following school year, I was the 4th Grade instructional assistant and moved to the 4th grade classroom teacher in 2009. My experiences here at St. John Fisher have been very rewarding and it is a blessing to be part of such a wonderful community!
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, cooking meals with my sister, attending trivia, taking trips to the coast, and playing with my precious nieces and nephews.
